The youth of the Damanhur Middle School interviewed Falco for Qui Damanhur Ragazzi, a self-produced journal made by the students themselves. Here is the first of a series of their questions and Falco’s answers. Enjoy!
Ariel (8th grade): If the project of establishing this community would have failed, what is the first thing you would have done?
Falco: I would have tried to do it again somewhere elsewhere. I do not give up easily. And I’ll tell you that I have re-founded Damanhur at least a dozen times, because there are so many things that can happen, and change is necessary. Then, people change, sometimes they forget the objectives that they have given themselves when they arrived here. They have other interests that vary, they lose sight of what happens, so every now and then for those who are interested, it’s necessary to bring attention back to the motives. If not, we could live better doing something else. That is, living better today no, on the contrary, because we can afford a quality of life that alone, only with our family, we would not be able to handle, not with the same results.
